大昭寺擦金身（正式通常稱為「刷金」、「貼金」或「佛身貼金」）是指信徒出資購買金粉液，由大昭寺僧人為寺內核心聖物——釋迦牟尼佛12歲等身像（覺沃佛）重新粉刷金汁、修飾面容與身軀的殊勝宗教儀式。 
在藏傳佛教傳統中，覺沃佛被視為佛陀真身現世，因此為其「擦金身」被公認為世間最快累積無量福報、淨化惡業的至高功德之一。 
一、 擦金身（刷金）的宗教功德
  • 莊嚴佛身，種解脫因：佛教經典記載，出資為佛像貼金、刷金，能令佛相輝煌永固，令見者生起清淨恭敬心。這能為施主帶來外表端嚴、健康長壽、事業順利、不受貧困所苦的現世果報。  
  • 與佛陀本尊直接相應：由於覺沃佛是由釋迦牟尼佛親自開光並給予加持授記的等身像（見像如見佛），為其貼金的功德，等同於在佛陀本尊在世時親自敬獻供養。
